Finding ones other Creative Side

Finding ones other Creative Side

I haven't done any photography events as of late, however, I have gotten into some other types of creative lifestyle temporarily until my photographic eye gets focused, I been doing some acrylic pours onto canvas for now. some of the work can be seen on this website. Just go to the shop link and go to the last page.

It always fascinates me with what the mind goes through and what we all go through to overcome our situation. Art just seems to do that for me. Whether it is just taking a simple photograph to do an entire event. It just relaxes me. Now It seems that I found something else that would occupy my time as well as maybe providing me with some sort of income to support myself. you know the saying already just don't let me remind you of it. "We all gotta eat". There I said it.

This Acrylic pouring thing has got me hooked and I am gearing with some ideas to blend my photos I have taken in the past to create some mixed media pieces which I hope to have on this website soon.

Have a great day all my creatives people, past and new clients as well as my supporters.

Learn some else about N-Scene Photography

I’m versatile and enjoy all aspects of photography, but I have a particular fondness for capturing images at night. I also have an affinity for landscape photography and black & whites, especially those processed in the infrared and sepia tone.

Photography Terminology Explained

Photography Terminology Explained

PHOTOGRAPHY TERMINOLOGY EXPLAINED

What is TFP/TFCD?

There are four typical arrangements for a model and a photographer:

- Model Hires Photographer - An experienced Photographer gets paid by the Model to work together on the Model’s portfolio

- Photographer Hires Model - An experienced Model gets paid by the photographer to work together on the Photographer’s portfolio

- Third Party Hires Model and Photographer (Commercial) - Both the Model and Photographer get paid by a third party to create an image that will be used by the third party

- TFP / TFCD -The Model and Photographer work together to create images for both the model’s and Photographer’s portfolios. . This is known as TFP or “Trade for Pictures”. Another variation is TFCD or “Trade for a CD” of images. This is a common way for a model and photographer to create images to build their respective portfolios without cost to either of them. The model gives their time, often signs a release and receives images for their portfolio as payment. The photographer shoots the images, usually does some level of retouching of selected images and retains the copyrights but allows the model to use the photos for self promotion.

What to expect for TFP/TFCD

This is all up for negotiation between the Model and the Photographer. Each situation is different and there are no rules. The experience level of the Model and the Photographer also play a role here.

A more experienced model can often ask for more from the arrangement than a newer model can expect to receive. What they bring to the table can make a big difference in the results of the collaboration.

On the other hand, an experienced Photographer can usually create better images than a newer, less experienced one can. A good photographer can often pick and choose the models they work with and dictate the terms of the collaboration.

- How many images will the Model receive for TFP/TFCD? –

The Model usually receives a certain number of images from the Photographer for promotional usage. The number of edited photos a Model should expect will vary depending on how many looks or outfits they photograph, and the time they spend shooting them and how the photographer handles that sort of arrangement.

Many photographers prefer to share only the retouched images of their own selection. In some cases the photographer will share all usable images, often resized and marked as samples, either online or via CD and have the model select the images.

In either case, the photographer will usually limit the number of selections to ensure that only the best images are used to represent their work. Another consideration is the time it takes to retouch an image. Some photographers spend several hours retouching a single image!

Will a MUA (Makeup Artist) or Hair Stylist be provided?

In some cases a Model or a Photographer will provide a MUA or Hair Stylist to take the quality of the collaboration to a higher level. Often the model will be able to handle basic Makeup and Hair Styling for the shoot. However, having a professional available to assist in this area is almost always the best way to go!

Most experienced MUAs and Hair Stylists get paid for their time. Rates can vary based on experience level and quality of their work.

Sometimes a MUA or Hair Stylist will give a better rate or even work for TFP if they want to work with a certain Model or Photographer. They often bring a lot to the table in terms of creating high quality images and can be very selective about who they are willing to work with for trade.
